CONCERT: The Australia Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra in the second of its intro series at the new  state-of-the-art venue at Sacred Heart College.  The orchestra includes Victoria's most gifted string players. Their programme includes two concertos for four violins, by Telemann and Vivaldi, Spring Symphony by Mendelssohn and a cheerful Divertimento by Melbourne composer Calvin Bowman who will be there, playing harpsichord.  One of the soloists is Rebecca Chan, winner of the string section, 2008 ABC Young Performer of the Year.  7.30pm at McAuley Hall, Aphrasia St. Tickets $33 & $17 at GPAC 5225 1200.  More from Helen Jordan 5243 6931.

PLAY: Charles Dickens performs A Christmas Carol  directed by James Adler, performed by Phil Zachariah for Eagles Nest Theatre. Charles Dickens gives readings from his classic tale of redemption, part of the City's  'Hidden Treasures' Potato Shed season. 8pm at the Potato Shed, aka Bellarine Multi-Arts Centre, Drysdale.
